Company Overview
Our timing and general subscriber services have come a long way since we began publishing
market timing information in June 1969.
The initial services focused on timing of the market and industry groups. Then by
the early seventies CMI moved into short-term stock timing.
With the advent of the CBOE in the mid-seventies, CMI was one of the first services
to give extensive daily coverage of stock option timing via a daily telephone hotline.
In the early eighties, when the Chicago Board of Options Exchange (CBOE) introduced
the S&P 100 Index (OEX) and its options to the trading arena, CMI began publishing
CMI's Index Options Trader and its daily telephone hotline.
Now, well into the 21st century, CMI is on the Web with automated daily chart updates
and our subscribers are able sign on to their computers anywhere in the world to
access our daily reports - something we certainly could
never have anticipated when we bought our first computer in 1973 with 8k of memory
and two tape cassette drives for a price exceeding $10,000. (This, of course, replaced our
4-function calculator we purchase for $900 a few years earlier that
supplemented our work on
the local university's mainframe where we religiously hauled our boxes of punched cards for processing.)
Things have certainly
changed over the years and, with the programming skills of our staff, CMI has kept up with the advancing
computer technology to provide its subscribers with state of the art market timing!
To some of our site visitors the
CMI's History Charts
may carry new information, but to CMI, and some of our long time subscribers, many
of the charts
are all part of the history during which they have actively traded.
Our Goals
Since our first newsletter was published in June
of 1969, our goal has been to provide our subscribers with the best timing information
available anywhere. And 'best' does not mean more signals; to us it means better
signals - those reliable enough to produce good profits while limiting the risk.
Our proprietary trading systems have been developed and tested in real time trading
through many markets over the past
41 years - a must for profitable trading!
Through the years we have watched the rapid appearance, and equally rapid disappearance,
of market newsletters publishing the latest, hot new trading system - hypothetical,
and fitted to the market - destined never to produce consistently profitable real
time signals. That's where CMI stands tall above the rest.
CMI's Trading Information
After over 4 decades of decision-making every market day, CMI has learned some
important lessons. First, preservation of capital is the primary goal, and, second,
don't try to second guess a tried and true trading system.
On occasion some subscribers find that the trading activity, dictated
by the market, can at times be slow, but when there are no computer-generated signals that carry a high reliability,
there are no formal trading recommendations. However, for those who want more action,
we provide additional technical information in our daily reports from which individual trading guidelines can be developed. Our trading record
reflects only the signals reported to subscribers that could be executed using the given limit
orders.
